Description: Records created or compiled by department chair largely consisting of correspondence, minutes, and program materials. The collection documents course and curriculum developments; staffing, budget, and space needs; and faculty and committee activities. Materials documenting the development of the master's program in speech pathology and audiology are also found within the collection. The collection also contains some materials documenting: the Hearing Evaluation Center, which operated as part of the Dept. of Speech; the development of the Speech Communication Center; and the university theater program. Miller (b.1919) served in the Army from 1941 to 1945 with the 32nd Infantry Division and the 186th Infantry Regiment, 41st Infantry Division. He earned his PhD in 1951 and was a professor of history at Ripon College from 1954 until his retirement in 1981.
